Be consistent and praise her again and again when she goes on the pad or outside...maybe give her a little treat as a reward. Another suggestion...maybe you could try a diaper on her...she could run around the house and you wouldn't have to worry about the carpet getting soiled, and hopefully she wouldn't wet in her diaper. Many dogs won't wet when wearing a diaper...and if she does, you could put a mini pad in it to keep from having to wash it so much.

I hope your carpet can be repaired. Maybe when you are gone, you should confine them both? I probably haven't been much help, but wanted to try because you seem frustrated and I'll say what my mom tells me when I'm frustrated..."Better days are coming!" Best wishes to you!

Thanks for the advice. Kady is now 11 weeks old. I am going to try the potty pads for a few more weeks and then maybe try the diaper is she is still having a hard time. I have been sittiner here thinking and she is a lot younger than Homer was when I got him. He was 12 weeks old and probably within 3 weeks he was pretty much potty trained. The breeder I bought Homer for was already starting to potty train the pups. I am sure that the breeder I bought Kady from probably wasnt doing it, since he sold me a sick dog, at 8 weeks old! I am really glad that she came home with me, so that I know she is being taken care of and is now VERY healthy. I reward her with little treats when she uses the potty pads, my husband and I jump around and gether all excited telling her she is a good girl and give her a treat.... She finaly got the concept last weekend and proceeded to use the 3 different potty pads that there are in the house, one right after another so that she could get more treats.... We did the same routine for each perfect potty, and there were no accidents that day....The next day I think she had amnesia... and that is how she has been since!
