Now it's almost grown in but her hair is not the straight silky type, it's kinda of puffy and course. So I've been thinking about having it cut but an afraid she won't look like a yorkie anymore and the new haircut will be bad again.

Oh my goodness! That is what the groomer called a "Yorkie cut!" I don't know what has happened to grooming schools !It seems they are teaching people some strange stuff these days. It used to be that the official AKC approved cut for the breeds were taught at grooming schools. People were also taught how to get rid of mats and the technical aspects of grooming. It seems now we go from either shaving all the dogs fur off to all kinds of exotic cuts. I have lost count of the number of people who specifically request a certain cut and then come home with a dog groomed totally different than the request! I advise people to get references and totally check out the groomer before leaving their dog there. Just because a person claims to be a groomer does not mean they have good taste or talent.
