Oh wow didn't know all of this. Definitely going to take caution whenever Geno has to be put under for anything. Luckily, our breeder is the anesthesiologist at the vet and even when he got his distemper shot, she yelled at the tech to give him the smallest needle lol The vet is a little out of the way but if it gives us peace of mind knowing the breeder has a lot of experience with animals that are as small as Geno, then driving out of the way is worth it.
Also, I do massage the top of Geno's neck and like on the sides I'll go in circles with my fingers. It's just a habit I do with dogs for whatever reason. I used to do it all the time to my mom's dog. I figured a little massage would feel good for them cause I'm never one to turn down a massage haha But I think I might stop that just out of nervouseness. I don't want to harm him. Is gently massaging his neck bad for him? |
