 my dog ziggy is sick.
Hello, I found this forum while searching the internet trying to find out what may be wrong with my dog ziggy. She is a 2.5 year old yorkie. She started acting funny recently. She would sit down randomly or turn out around to look at her rear end. She is lethargic and doesn't want to move off the bed or couch. She won't go outside for walks and if I can get her outside she will go bathroom quickly and then run back inside. She usually loves being outside. She has also scooted a couple of times. When she walks, she will bend her back legs down and kind of walk low to the ground.
So following these symptoms I took her to the vet thinking maybe her anal glands were giving her problems. But the vet checked and nothing was wrong there. She felt her back legs and then did blood work. I also gave them a urine sample. None of the tests are back yet but I am wondering if anyone may have any ideas on what is wrong with ziggy. She doesn't appear to be in pain unless she is walking...then she seems very uncomfortable. I am thinking maybe a urinary tract infection but I don't know. The vet gave her some antibiotics via an injection (convenia) so perhaps that will kick in. In the meantime, I wish I knew what was wrong. The vet said to call if she gets worse and to plan to take her in to the vets in a week if she doesn't improve. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?
