If you re read what I said.....I said that often seniors who have never had pups suddenly want one and placing a pup with issues can be troublesome. It was not exactly worded that way, but is what I said. Seniors are often lonely and people advise them to get a pet. Sometimes it is a great situation, but sometimes not.
I am a senior as well.

I am not trash talking seniors as pet owners...and have adopted to many empty nesters and seniors.
My point is that the entire situation really needs to be weighed carefully.
