If you use Nancy's idea and hang the throw from a rod, you don't have to hem the throw and take away from the original size. You can sew a rod pocket onto the back of your throw. Use a co-coordinating fabric, and thread so it doesn't show as much from the front view. The fabric just needs to be long enough to run the length of your throw and wide enough to cover a rod with seam allowances.
