The lady said she talked to her vet and he told her as long as everything seems ok with the pups, he doesn't need to see them for a wellness exam until he gives them their first shots at six weeks.

This seems very off to me. Shouldn't they be seen a lot sooner than that? Should I be worried?

Well if the owner is going to have the dew claws done and tails docked they need to be seen by a vet and with in 3-5 day's of being born.
