I definately wouldn't let them go 30 hours without food. An empty stomach and the motion of travel added to the confines of a carrier is just asking for a sick dog. I'd try to stick to their regular routine & regular food as closely as possible to avoid any stomach upset.
I'd feed & give water before the first flight (in plenty of time to have them go potty) and feed & water again during the long layovers and give them a good walk too, so they can stretch their legs and hopefully get a lil tired out ready for the next leg of the journey.
Best of luck on your trip home.
