I love the place I work and my career suits me to a "T". I'm an accountant working in public practice in BC, Canada. I make a lot of money, but honestly I wouldn't care if I didn't like my boss or the work that I do.
Recently, someone told my daughter, who is 17, that when choosing a career, you must think of a few things... 1. Does it put food on the table? 2. Is it stable? and 3. Do you LIKE it. LOVE of a job is not required, but you should not dislike it and it should not cause you stress. Personally, I quit a job several years ago that I hated to much I was almost throwing up at the thought of going to work in the morning. I quit regardless of the fact that I made good money and had a mortgage to pay. After that I promised myself I would never put money over quality of life.
