I look at getting a puppy much like adopting a new member to my family. And for any adoptive member of my family I'd want a closed-adoption, not an open-adoption. I want my pup to be mine...not feel like I'm raising someone else's pup...if that makes sense.

I could see how that would. But I know what I mean is that you will get support from the breeder if you have questions, be that training, grooming, etc. Also a good breeder will want to know how the health of their dog is over the course of their life. It is very important information for the breeder.
