I think RC is a decent food. Eukanuba has a Naturally Wild formula that isn't too bad, but I think they did have a recall this past year for something.... but I don't think Eukanuba is the worst of the worst or anything, and neither is RC. A lot of Yorkies seem to do well on it.

Some don't like this site, but I think it's a good starting point: Dog Food Reviews | Dog Food Ratings - it's just a convenient way to look at all the different foods, read some personal reviews about them, etc, in an organized format. But if the food you happen to feed is "just a 3 star food" or whatever - I wouldn't worry too much about it either. If your dog does well on it, then that's great.

I prefer to avoid wheat, corn, soy (they tend to be plagued with the most recalls, from what I've seen). The big recall of 2007 was due to wheat, I believe, in most foods and a lot of the recent aflaxtoxin recalls in the past few weeks were due to moldy corn. I don't mind some grains though, although my dog seems to do better on grainfree.

I also really like this site: www.dogfoodproject.com
