Me again - Murphy hasn't had a bath for two weeks -so, I gave him one tonight.
The bath part goes reasonably well - but trying to dry him is something else. He goes nuts - hates it - bites me, the towel, and everything.
After that - I thought I'd try AGAIN to brush or comb him. He became his usual monster from hell self. He was struggling, jumping around, fighting, and really biting me hard. This is totally unreal. I have never had a dog like this. You would think I was killing him.
I want to make sure that you know that Murphy is 4 1/2 months old, a quiet, docile little Yorkie. He doesn't bark. He's sweet, friendly, and loves and is nice to everyone. Playful - never aggressive. Never a problem at all!!!!
So - where does this monster come from??
Anyway - I did the cheese thing and got a little grooming done. He licked on the cheese busily for 5 minutes or more, but kept an eye on me while I gently combed his back and the top part of his legs. He has no tangles or matts over this area at all - so there was no pulling or hurting in any way. Still, if it weren't for the cheese, he'd be growling and biting me to death.
Tomorrow night - I am going to concentrate a little more on his legs. They really aren't matted or tangled, but will require a little more combing. I'll try not to hurt him at all -- but he doesn't even need to be hurt to go bonkers crazy.
What a dog! I think any groomer would give up with him and call me to come get him. No charge - just take him home and don't bring him back!!!!!
I know I have the worst dog - as far as combing or brushing goes. A dog couldn't be worse.
He is bad bad bad - I should have named him Leroy Brown - right!
The thing is -- he has to be groomed and combed and brushed occasionally. I'm bigger than him - I am going to win!
As soon as this war session was over - he was back to his playful, friendly little self. He holds no grudge - at least I'm thankful for that.
