I completely agree...I think a thread or a sticky on this topic is a great idea! I am definitely one of those members that would never have that thought enter my mind...but you are right not everyone is that way. I agree that a puppy isn't the best idea with a newborn and an older dog might do better. With respect to that subject, my fiance and I are getting married in September. Teddy actually just turned a year old and we are getting our second in a few weeks...a little girl (not sure if you saw my thread). We want him to have a friend to play with so down the road when we do have children Teddy will always have his buddy around to play with him when we can't. I have always thought ahead about this kind of stuff - I think it will be great for him! Plus by the time we do have children they will be trained and hopefully best buddies!
