Hello and welcome to YorkieTalk. Have you tried taking his poop outside and putting it where you want him to go poo? Also when he goes potty where you want him to go you should praise him and give a treat. Be very careful if your letting him run outside off leash and in a non fenced area because many dogs have gotten lost, hurt or killed this way. When Callie was a puppy and started showing interest in the trash we got all new trash cans that you have to step on the petle to open and is nice not having to worry about her getting into something that could have something in it that could make her sick plus it looks neater lol. I personal don't like Iams food and would keep him on what he was being feed for awhile.
