The thing is, even if it does get bad, I'm not sure what to do. I guess I could lie, but I hate lying with a passion, and not fond of liars.
We have a city ordinance where if anyone goes to the hospital, doctor's office, or any other medical establishment for the care of an animal-inflicted wound (regardless of the severity mind you), the animal (domesticated or not) must be confiscated and confined for 72 hours. During that time they are manhandled by people, and temperament tested, etc. Bella weighs 2 lbs and she is just a puppy. It was completely accidental and
no way in heaven or hell or anywhere else I would put her through that. I'm not comfortable with revealing our city of residence online to strangers yet, but suffice it to say this ordinance stinks. I've had friends with their cats in there for no reason (IE: infected cat scratch). IF the animal is domesticated and does not have a rabies vaccination (Bella doesn't have it), they keep the animal in their custody until it has one.
On another note, I slammed my finger in the car door last month. They gave me a prescription for something called Keflex in case of infection. I never filled the prescription because my finger healed on it's own. Would that medicine apply for an animal-inflicted wound?
It's pretty gross looking. I think she hurts more than I do, the poor little thing keeps dropping her toys at my feet. I threw her ball for her but she wouldn't chase it, she just laid at my feet pitifully like she was giving me her toys as a sorry. She has no desire to play and I know she's not sleepy (her blood sugar level is fine).
I wish I hadn't gasped like I did and said ouch so loudly, it probably scared the crap out of her.
