Sorry, I didn't really answer your post. Yorkies are an expensive breed to buy and to own. The litters are 2-4 pups, unlike some breeds who have 10-12 at a time, and Cesarean is much more likely, which is at least $1000. I've even heard of many single pup pregnancies, and it's a hard breed to breed correctly, and there is much expensive pre-breeding testing to be done. Of course, you can skip all that and find a breeder who doesn't do testing, but just correcting one leg with Luxating Patella costs $1600 to fix, and it's not unusual for them to have two legs with this, so it's important to find a breeder who tests for these things. Also, Yorkies are expensive to own, I’ve had to take Joey to the emergency room twice, where it wouldn't be so important with a bigger dog. A small dog can go downhill fast. Do you have the finances for a spay or neuter or to fix an injured leg should he jump of the couch? Some options are to save until you have more money, or find an excellent breeder and see if she has an older dog she would be willing to sell. Many show breeders hold back a pup thinking it might have show potential, and one small fault can keep it out of the ring, so these can be great buys. Of course, even with this, you probably would be expected to pay around $800. Bottom line, is if you’re on a budget, buying a cheap yorkie can be very expensive. We read all the time here how people can’t afford the surgery their dogs need, and have to give them up to a rescue. There are dogs on Craig's list that cost about $400.00, but this would scare me to death. Hopefully, you could speak with the owners vet before purchasing, otherwise, the dog might have an expensive to treat, illness.
