I have a Schnorkie (miniature schnauzer Yorkie mix) of course a Tricolored Yorkie and a white (blond) miniature schnazuer too-we're a pack of misfits around here!
If you feel any bit shunned over your dog's background realize most people here are just very strong in their beliefs about breed preservation and the type of breeding that should be financially supported-it's not really at you as much the people who breed these dogs-but to each their own!
IMHO it's all about the health, responsible breeding in treatment and placement of the animals. Although I prefer to see purebreds with AKC papers as to strive per a greater goal in breeding responsibility...
Besides you'll quickly realize the ppl really getting shunned are those who practice unethical breeding and deny their dog's antiquate treatment and medical care.
