Cry Kiwi's Big Day (spay)

So, today Kiwi is spayed and her 2 retained baby teeth pulled. My daughter has brought her to the vet, and I'll sit watching the seconds tick by 'til I hear from them.

Her weight is still just under 2-1/2 pounds, but she is a feisty, spunky, tough little girl. She's never had any digestive troubles (diarrhea/vomiting) or adverse reactions to vaccinations other than a lump where she was given her rabies shot. She is very healthy, and I hold on to this praying she'll be fine.

Her biggest eating time is first thing in the morning. I felt so bad not being able to give her anything. She didn't seem too upset.

My daughter is here visiting for Christmas and brought her toy poodle. Tika is happily keeping Kiwi's bed warm while she's gone. Tika weighs 3-1/2 pounds. We got her when she was 3 years old and the breeder had bred her twice with resulting C-sections and dead babies. After the second pregnancy and loss, they spayed her and offered her for sale. I can't imagine even attempting to breed these tiny dogs no matter how small the sire is. It's just wrong. I guess if Tika can survive all of that, my Kiwi will be just fine.

Thank you for taking the time to read my ramble. I'll let you know how she fares. I've asked that they call immediately after the surgery. She is the only surgery today and may be able to come home as early as 1.
