i have had a bad experience with this also... mine wasnt funny though. . . we had a SOLID gate (solid as in NO SLOTS, it was solid wood all the way across, no holes to slip through) and my cairn terrier jumped it
. . . well the mail man was on our front porch delivering mail and my terrier jumped up on him. He didnt bite him (i saw the WHOLE INCIDENT) at the worst he probably got scratched by my dogs nails (what dog doesnt have nails that can scratch ???)... we got a letter from the postmaster except it wasnt so "lightly put"... ours said they would no longer deliver mail to our house AT ALL and we had to pay to get a PO box (all the way across town). . It also said that we were lucky the postman didnt press charges for the "bite that he recieved" (bite my butt...... he didnt bite him at all... but did the word of the owner mean anything? nope, not at all... so the mail man won)... didnt stop me from turning on the sprinklers (which pointed in odd directions, even towards the street) when he walked by

Anyways, be very careful... it is their word against yours and your word doesnt count for anything
