I have had simular situation.... cant help but wonder why they do it. A quick correction and right off to the appropriate potty area works well. As far as where to put him in a time out that can be hard.

I do use my cage for time outs but only when they have not been too harshly reprimanded vocaly or they will like you say associate that area in a bad light.

I have some useful tips on my site that might be helpful including the shaker can.

Ah thank you, I will check out your website! It is so frustrating to deal with, and I know a lot of it is my fault bc I am not good at disciplining him. We had some rain too a couple days ago- he will not go in the rain, nor if the ground is wet!! I think I just have to put my game face on and get serious!! No more Nice Mommy!! LoL. I am going to clean the floors, get a squirt bottle and can of pennies, and try to really watch him- take him out randomly every half hour and make sure he goes!!

I will need to figure out where a good time out spot is.. I guess I can only use the time out when I catch him in the act.. right? If I come across pee it is too late?

The crazy thing is if I am watching him like a hawk he will be sooooo good not one accident, but when I start lacking he has accidents. Then I think about it.. am I going to have to watch him like a hawk 24/7 or will he ever be 100% LOL That’s the million dollar question I guess.
