I have been to her home to basically be nosey and see what kind of "operation" she is actually running. I honestly like her. The daddy of this pup is an AKC parti yorkie. He is a beauty. The mother is also registered with AKC. Although, I realize there are a lot of people who disapprove of mixing it up, there is an equal number of people who like the mixes. Our little 3/4 yorkie, 1/4 shih tzu is a precious little girl. She is unique and I love that. I actually was waiting for a litter that was born last week of purebred AKC parti yorkies. We wanted a male. There was one beautiful male born, but he is almost identical to this morkie. I decided to take the morkie, just to have something a little different. I apologize if you think I dont care about the breed. I LOVE the breed. But, When we bring home our new little man, I want to share him with you and everyone else. I basically wanted to let everyone know what I was getting ...and yes, there will be those who frown upon it. But, I have to trust my own judgment. |
I guess my next questions then are:
The dam and sire, did the breeder have open registration papers on them? If yes, then I would suppose she then would be a breeder of maltese and yorkies, and this was an accidental litter. If no, and she had limited registration on the dogs, then she was supposed to have them altered and didn't and bred them anyway. Does she usually have litters? Of what kind of breed?
Don't get me wrong, no one ever said they looked down on the dogs, dogs of any breed or % of whatever. It's the breeders who do it for the money. Like Nancy had linked, there are many mixes out there available for a very small adoption fee. I would never pay more than a few hundred for a mixed breed dog, for the fact that there are SO many of them in shelters, rescues and pounds waiting for a good home, and these type of breeders are making it worse.
So please let me understand what kind of breeder you are supporting.
