I think the amount of water a puppy drinks depends on the weather and how active they are. I know when Lucky my 15 year old chow-mix gets a steroid shot she will drink alot more water. Rudy my little toot will drink water everytime one of the other dogs drinks. It is so funny he will get between Lucky's legs and drink. I don't think he is thirsty, I think he does it to aggravate them. Everyday is something new with Rudy
