Oh I have some hints for leave it also.
We did this with a treat or kibble and she caught on really fast. We put her in a sit and put out one piece of food on the floor, as we are putting it down we say "leave it". She would go for it, but we'd say, "No, leave it" and kind of cover it with our hand. Slowly take away your hand while still saying leave it. If she starts to movie in, as soon as she starts say No leave it again and cover it again with your hand. Until she doesn't go for it and you are able to take your hand completely back, then say Good leave, ok get it! and point to it, and she would get it.
The funny thing is, when we say leave it, Uni can NOT look at the food! It's like if she looks at it, she's going for it. So she has to look away. Usually at me. It's so cute.
