Another thing to consider is that it isn't the food. Beemer has blocked tear ducts. I've worked on them with warm wet washclothes to no avail. No change in food or water has had any effect. My groomer suggested that I have the vet check to see if his ducts are blocked. It's a simple dye test. Now I can't remember exactly but they either put dye in his eyes and then looked for it in his nose or the other way around. (I'm getting old! ) On him the dye never did pass through. When he went in for his neuter the vet attempted to unblock them but he wasn't able to. He's going to have a dental in a couple of months and he's going to try again. If he still can't get them unblocked we're going to take him to an opthamologist. If it were just cosmetic I probably woudn't bother but it does seem to bug him and make him itchy sometimes.
