We thought it would be easier to transport than her large crate that we have that is very heavy. We are taking the crate with us for my Mom's, but I hate to drag that out for the hotel. I am planning on test running it out in the coming weeks to see if Katie Scarlett likes it. She went in there today and sniffed around a bit. I hope she won't try to 'eat' her way out of it. LOL.
To get Oz used to his, I rolled up both doors so he could go in and out at will and put his bed and toys in it, and hid treats in it on a daily basis. He really looks at his playpen as his "home" in our house. That's why it annoys me that the zippers are so difficult. I want to leave the door open when we're home, but zip it up while we're at work. It's a struggle every single day to get it zipped up.

I don't think Oz is trying to escape. I think he's just bored and that's his way of saying "I don't wanna be here all by myself!!" I give him toys and lots of things to chew on, but he doesn't touch any of it when he's in the playpen while we're at work. He just sleeps or picks apart the playpen.

Thankfully, Oz is not a climber or escape artist. He's 8 months old and we've been using the playpen for many months. He could jump out of it, but he hasn't figured that out.
