Talk to your vet about your fears for her being spayed and that should help you decide. I was leery when my two got done, but the vet answered all of my questions and concerns, did pre op blood work, and used Isoflourane for the surgery. They both came out very well and were wanting to run and play the next day
There is always risk with any surgery, but I believe that the benefits far outweigh that.
