I would have him checked at the vet soon....if all is ok try wearing an old t shirt around then when you leave let him sleep on it. Maybe your scent will give him comfort & make him feel like you are close. It worked with my daughter lab. Good luck. I do understand about leaving them alone & feeling guilty. Mine are with each other but I still feel bad about leaving them......I want to stay home too but like you said.......someone has to pay bills.......GOOD LUCK
