FUDGE!!!!
After losing our jack russel/scottie dog Guinness about two weeks ago, my mum has been missing having her own little dog to cuddle and follow her around (Millie prefers to cutch up in her bed at the moment) so i started looking on Preloved for a yorkie/puppy for her for after christmas when an advert kept popping up for a 2 year old yorkie female for rehoming. They were charging a fee of £150 so i text the ad holder for more info and we decided to travel up the next day (sunday just gone)
We travelled a 200 mile round trip to see her and when we got there, we couldnt believe our eyes! We went to the house that was owned by two young girls (about my age 20/21 -ish) it was dirty and had junk every where and full of kids. there were also 3 yorkies other in crates barking and Fudge was loose running around and she just flopped on her back when she saw us and ran and hid behind a safety gate. My family and i just looked at each other and we decided we HAD to get Fudge out of there. She was dirty and greasey and i don think she had EVER been brushed/bathed or clipped and was so skinny! She had no lead, collar, bed or toys with her either. She doesn't even know how to play.
When we got her home, she was so shy and just wanted to cuddle on mine and my mums lap so we took her straight for a bath and when she came back down she was a completely different dog!! she was SOOOO HAPPY! we got her bathed and clipped at the groomers yesterday and she looks amazing. Shes so happy now and i think she realises how lucky she is that we got her out of that place.
The only problem is that we cant get her to eat any thing apart from bits of fresh chicken if we pretend we are feeding her from our plate at the table (yes VERY bad manners but its the only way she will eat) and she dosent seem to pee much. She had NEVER been for a walk judging by her reaction when we take her out (like us seeing everything for the first time and cant get enough of walkies!!) he dosent know any commands, isnt toilet trained and she has been bred from.
We will be working our hardest ASAP to sort all these things out and she is going to the vet for a check this after noon.
She's SOOOOOO loving though and is such a happy little girl now and my mum loves her "christmas present" even more now as shes had a bad past and shes settling and getting on with our other dogs well and we are proud to say that she is ours and at her forever home, no matter how many problems she has needing to be sorted out
We love our happy ever after rescued girl!!
Heres some pics of her before and after her groom (scruffy pic is after first bath) and with my yorkie Millie
