Bil Jac uses the preservatives BHA or BHT, the last time I looked. Both are considered carcinogens. It's also annoying that their website only lists the main ingredients, not a complete ingredient listing. Also, there is no nutritional analysis listed. It also contains ingredients I am not big on -- animal by-products, corn meal, etc. Apparently, this year, they were hit with multiple FDA violations (something about having rodent and insects infestation) but I don't know how true that is as I never found official reports of this. I still just don't trust the food.
