Thank you for the tips everyone. The issue I have been having living in KC is I am in a prime puppy mill area so it seems a lot of ads are really puppy mill breeders misrepresenting themselves. I have even had the same issue with some rescues that when I go to see the dogs they are malnourished, in need of medical attention, no vet history etc. It is really disheartening to find so many people claiming to be a rescue but then clearly not have the dog's interest at heart. I completely understand a dog may need dental work especially in a tiny dog; I am just leery about going through that situation again and another dog dying. I would hope if a dog came from a rescue that ALL medical care that could be done would be. But I do understand a dog may need it again in the future. I was hoping someone knew a reputable breeder that was retiring a dog or someone on here was in need of a good home for their dog; I just feel this site is quite a bit safer than others. I can always wait until after the holidays for those "impulse" dogs that will need homes when the "fun" wears off for a lot of people. SO if everyone can keep there ears open I'd appreciate it. |
