yup, comb forward and then cut straight across from the outside corner of one eye to the outside corner of the other. When i do it I only comb about 1/2 of hair behind the eyes forward, not the whole top of the head, and then I blend it all in with thinning shears.
Or, if you have clippers and a set of comb attachments you can take a long comb (over 1 in) and run that over her head from front to back. this way it will all be even.
