I don't feel brave enough to do any grooming myself, but don't beat yourself up. I remember cutting my skin babies fingernails when he was an infant and i nicked him - he survived it although I felt like a terrible mom. I personally don't think the vet is necessary unless the nick starts looking like it is getting infected or bothering her. She is just adorable, btw - so cute!
