I don't have any advice for you as we don't own any birds... but I know my 3 year old yorkie (Couver) went after my grandpa's bird and luckily we were able to separate them before either of them were hurt. I would just be careful with yorkies and birds... I know they can peacefully coexist, but I know I wouldn't trust my two around a bird.
