Default Loving home available for yorkie in need Kansas City area

Hello All,
I am looking for a yorkie in need of a home. I am NOT looking for a puppy from a breeder, I simply want to give a home to a dog that is a rescue or in a situation where the current owner can no longer care for it. I am a loving pet owner with two cats, both dog friendly, one likes to snuggle with dogs and groom them. I recently lost my golden retriever about 2 months ago due to a heart condition, then sadly my yorkie past away on Thursay during surgery. He and I had bonded even more after the passing of the golden and now I find myself at a loss without either of them. This is the first time in my life I have been without a dog and sadly my lil' yorkie was a rescue that I only had for just under two years. I am looking for something about 5lbs. or less, I would be open to ones a little bigger but just really like that size. I am open to a yorkie, biewer, parti, golden or mix, whatever doesn't really matter. Just want something that wants to cuddle and be spoiled, one that travels well, is healthy, spayed/neutered, UTD shots and with good teeth (my guy was having dental surgery). I live in Kansas City but am willing to travel to pick up. Behavioral issues are not a big deal to me as I have trained dogs in the past and am comfortable with these things as long as I know up front and can address the issue immediately. I have looked into several rescues but unfortuantely there aren't too many locally, I do know there are a lot of puppy mills in this area so I would assume someone knows of a place that has some of these guys that need homes. I am also open to a breeder release that has retired their dog, sex does not matter either, nor age.
thanks for any help,
Amanda
