A special note from the director of the SBA
The SBA does not condone or support Puppy Mills. If you have heard anything to the contrary from any websites with "forums" (Breed specific websites where people go to discuss their breeds and share information) let me assure you, their accusations have no basis in reality. They are libel, slanderous, and completely untrue.
We strive to bring the public puppies from loving families doing their best to raise happy, healthy dogs. The small breeders of today are being almost taken out of business by the commercial operations that MASS PRODUCE multiple breeds. These operations we consider "Puppy Mills".
The SBA has been given a voice on the internet and joined together as a group, approximately 16 small breeders, allowing them to reach a wider market. Many of the breeders in the SBA, as well as Marlene Lippert herself, are kennels lisenced by the state of PA certified for the health and well-being of the dogs, usually only because in their townships they have enough dogs to be considered a kennel (which is often only 5 or more). Not only do they reach these usually low expectations, but exceed them and include love and socializing in their daily routine.
