My family also bred quarter horses for show. I watched my dad for years before he passed go through with his horses exactly what I go through now with my yorkies. And I must say that he did suceed in the end. He will always be what keeps me focused.
I do believe this about a lot of the breeders on here and the fact that they say their yokries sleep with them , etc., but in my dealings with breeders in the "real" world and even other members on here who talk about their breeders or breeders they have met, I hear breeders refer to their "house dogs" or their "pets" as opposed to their breeding stock and I gathered from that that some breeders don't look at or treat their breeding stock as pets. I meant no offense to the breeders on here by this. It was merely an observation and I wondered if the breeders on here had ever had experience with a breeder who didn't consider their breeding stock as pets. I know that commercial vets don't.

Do most show breeders?I know the show breeders on here do, but are there some who don't? It also brings to mind the fact that some breeders when they retire their breeding dogs, they rehome them. I don't think I could rehome a 6,7 or 8 year old pet. Is that a bad thing for me to say?
