The first time I took my dog to a groomer I brought along some pictures of what I was looking for. I also wanted to learn how to do it myself and the groomer was happy to give me a how-to lesson. I now cut him myself but it is always a work in progress. If you're interested in a longer style take a look at my profile album labeled Deuce. The second picture is the current style I'm happy with. I leave the legs long, trim the feet and cut the body down. I use a shaver with a blade attachment and then scissor cut and blend the body. It's kind of like a modified Schnauzer cut. He finally has a top knot and I leave some hair on his tail. I'm currently trying to grow the hair around his eyes because I used to trim that. His hair is quite silky all over. At this length I usually comb him out daily and never let it go for more than two days. Good luck on finding the perfect style!!!
