Of course, however the AKC was credibility in a sense. I know that "perfect" dogs aren't all AKC registered but most reputable breeders register their pups with AKC making it easy to trace their lineage. That way it's not as simple to sell someone a mixed breed. It was the fact that the breeder lied about it that upset me most. I thought I had went over every provision to make sure that I was going to get a well bred dog, but instead it was lies. So now I have a pup whose lineage is not traceable and now I have to pay even more money to make sure he's in the best health. I wasn't trying to make it sound like him being AKC would make him any more loveable. I just don't like being deceived.

He's VERY lovable actually, and so smart!

One thing you shouldn't do is let them out when they are whining. This will give him the impression that he'll be let out if he whines so he'll keep doing it.
Yup. Issue at hand, like I said earlier it's hard to just ignore him because I live in a townhouse and the walls are paper thin. It's very disturbing to the neighbors if I just let him cry and bark and wail. When I take a shower he has to be in the crate and he will whine the whole time. The first night he cried for hours. I kept waiting for a few seconds of silence so I could praise him for being quiet but he kept going and going.

We found putting the crate facing our bed at night was the best thing because he can see and smell us, so he didn't cry but 3 times last night (each time I took him to potty and then put him back) it went well. I feel decently rested

He does cry when I get up to use the restroom so I stay in the bathroom until he's quiet and then I come out and praise him for being quiet. He did /very/ well. So yea, just gotta figure out how to get him comfortable with being alone in the crate which will take some time I suppose. Sucks cuz I got a dr's appointment tomorrow so he'll be alone for a few hours.

And thank you to all those for advice and comments. He sure is a cute little bugger
