However, when I asked her to supply the parents paperwork (in person yesterday) she said she didn't have it printed out. I assume she doesn't have any. She seemed like a really good breeder but I guess she learned how to tell people what they want to hear. I will report her to the AKC as well as APRI if the pup is indeed a mix as well as for lying to me. Ugh people are so disappointing.

As for Teddy, well that first night is a doozy isn't it? I have not slept yet, he cried in his crate for 3 hours straight, I live in a townhouse and have two neighbors, I heard someone scream through the wall "shut uppp!!" so I knew I had to get Teddy to stop. Of course he easily passes out on the couch. Does anyone have any suggestions? I had a water bottle in his bed, a clock on the side, soft music, he was in my room just in a crate. I understand that he's just scared so I guess i'll catch some Z's with him on the couch.

For this I recommend moving his crate or expen to your bedroom, it's scary spending your first night away from your mom and litter-mates all by yourself in a strange new place. Rizzo was a very quiet puppy, but I had always planned to have his crate in my room for nighttime so he could see and smell me. It seemed to re-assure him, and I believe many new "parents" have found the same result when they move the puppy to their rooms.

Just a side note, if you never intend for Teddy to sleep in bed with you, DO NOT let him sleep with you in your bed ever. It only takes one night of cuddling up to you in bed to leave the lasting impression that that is where he belongs and he won't know what he did if you put him in the crate later on, thus much crying through the night.

Good luck! I envy the cute puppy face, but don't envy the puppy phase, lol.

As far as the breeder stuff goes, I'd listen to Gemy, she seems to know more about that then I could ever imagine. I'm sorry that you feel duped, but you did get one adorable pup, regardless of lineage. I just hope he is as healthy as he appears oh, and some small pups just don't like being picked up, it makes sense, having a huge human you don't know suddenly launch towards you to grab you, I can sympathize with that.
