Default Just got back from ER with Mylee

All morning Mylee has been my shadow and we were out in the yard enjoying the beautiful weather. We came in, she took a few minutes of a nap before I fed her at 12:00. All fine and normal. Immediately after I fed her I took her out to potty and she started shaking her head, and crying in pain. It appeared to be her ear. Seriously, that fast. I watched her for a few minutes thinking it was temporary, but she was working herself up into a panting mess and wouldn't let us touch her ear so off we went. The suddeness of the onset of this scared me to death.

Nothing! No infection, no irritation, ear is clean with nothing lodged. So the vet checked her for a dislocated jaw or a broken tooth, and her eyes for neurological. Nothing. But she is clearly uncomfortable with pain and holding her ear down. They treated her for pain and gave her something they said was similar to morphine. She (vet) said if she's not better in a couple of days they will go ahead and treat her for an infection, but she doesn't see any at this point. She's laying beside now resting but lifts her head every few minutes and shakes it and her ear is still droopy. Poor baby. I'm glad it was (at first glance) nothing, but the cause is still bothering me. It's got to be something. Any ideas?
