With my big boy, he tolerates cold really really well. So I usually don't start putting a jacket on him until it's in the 40's. It depends, too, like if we are going on a walk when it's real sunny but only like 45-50, a jacket isn't needed. If the sun is not out, I'll put something on him. He even handles snow great; if it's sunny and snow on the ground, he goes out and plays in it without a jacket. I try to put one on him though if I know we're going to be out there for a while.
