Im reasonable sure that altering someone elses dog is no legal. Be careful what type of advice you give.
To the OP you can be godmother to her daughter and still keep you and yours at a distance. Gifts to her child is always a good thing and you promised to be in this childs life. This does not make you responsible for her bills where her dog is conserned. She is responsible,she will pay either financially or her child will see how heartless she is. You can choose to cut off most of your time with her or you can continue to tell her that she is wrong and she may cut you out of her life. There is no good answer to this type of situation. I am sorry that you are finding that a life long friend has little consern for life.
