My suggestion would be to contact other orthodontists around your area (or even a couple of towns/cities away) and have them to give you price estimates. Our dental insurance also does not cover a penny of orthodontics (which I personally find to be absurd because you can develop troubling medical conditions if you don't have your teeth worked on), but I found someone in the next town over who will do my consultation for free (they told me via e-mail it would be complimentary and that includes impressions) and they will work with you financially with payment plans thereafter. I have heard that consultations have costed people $200, but some people will offer it for free. Just keep shopping around, and I wish you the best of luck!
