Sounds like the bordetella. It can give them a mild case of the disease. That is part of the reason why many of us just skip it (besides the disease itself is almost never life threatening and self limiting). I'd say have the vet take a look because it has continued. Some prefer to head off any secondary infections with antibiotics (although kennel cough itself will not be "cured" with them). It has to run its course if that is the problem
