Start off using only the blowdryer and no brush until your baby gets used to the sound and feel. Add the brush once that initial fear is gone.
When Crissy first came to live with us 10 weeks ago, she didn't want any part of the blowdryer. She would try to escape me. I sit on the floor with my legs folded while I blowdry my babies. She would attempt to escape under my arm near my elbow while my arm is close to my body. I just held her there and dried what I could with the brush and dryer. Now . . . we have NO problems! She LOVES getting dried.
Good luck!
