Good advice. Training classes should help. Expand his world slowly. I have done this with rescues. First a short car ride a bit longer each day. Go to Wal-marts or a busy grocery store, parking lot. Ride around, park and let them watch the shopers coming and going. Walk them a little in front of the store. I always have a sign made that says
DOG IN TRAINING
please no petting
Later I use a sign that says DOG IN TRAINING Please ask before petting
This way you build up to slowly to new things.
