Computer help is ridiculously expensive. Try to make friends with a local geek. I had a "WinFixer" trojan take down my pc a few years ago. It popped up advertisements like crazy.

Do you have a system "Recovery" in your control panel? I'm using Windows 7 and that is what it is called on mine. It will restore your computer to a earlier point in time and may get rid of the virus. Although the Recovery isn't supposed to touch things like picture or document files, be sure to back up or print out anything important.
