However, in the 3 years that I've had him, several people have asked me...including one Yorkie owner...what kind of dog he is. I always tell them he's a Yorkie (that's what I was told, that's what his papers say, and he looks like Yorkies in books and online). But the other day, a dog trainer at a local petstore asked me if he's an Australian terrier. I told her no but came home and googled the breed. Guess what! My baby looks almost exactly like those pictures! But when I google Yorkies, he looks like those pictures, too!! Is it possible that I don't own a Yorkie?? How could I find out? Obviously it won't change how I feel about him but I would like to know for sure.
I can only assume that by large flea market you mean canton first monday? If so, I wouldn't believe anything anyone out there told me. We bought a full blood chihuahua with papers, who ended up mixed with weenie dog, has a Merle gene and is blind, deaf and has a lot of problems... My friend registered her coffee table as a great Dane with ACA just to prove it can be done. Their papers are often fake or ACA or APRI, meaning NOTHING. Have your dog DNA tested. My experience with flea market dogs and from other people's stories say he isn't full blooded yorkie.
