I bought my Yorkie at a large flea market when he was about a year old. I didn't buy him because he was a Yorkie and the fact that he was registered didn't matter one way or another to me (although I did realize that the papers were not from one of the large well-known breeding clubs). However, in the 3 years that I've had him, several people have asked me...including one Yorkie owner...what kind of dog he is. I always tell them he's a Yorkie (that's what I was told, that's what his papers say, and he looks like Yorkies in books and online). But the other day, a dog trainer at a local petstore asked me if he's an Australian terrier. I told her no but came home and googled the breed. Guess what! My baby looks almost exactly like those pictures! But when I google Yorkies, he looks like those pictures, too!! Is it possible that I don't own a Yorkie?? How could I find out? Obviously it won't change how I feel about him but I would like to know for sure.
