I wouldn't think too much about that. I dont think by Monkey being mean to the pup at first will make her turn out to have a mean personality etc. It will take some time for them to get aquainted....I do think you're right on the part where the other dogs need to get over their loss first before moving onto a new dog....i would take it slow and try not to worry so much. Everything will work out fine.
